Hi,
I currently use LS2 cables in my system and I am considering whether an upgrade to LS5 would be worthwhile for me. My speakers are Frugal Horns with Mark Audio drivers and the amplification is a DIY mosfet single ended. This system is in use all day long in near field as I work from home and sit all day at a computer. The sound is excellent and not tiring and I listen at low levels. Of all the variables left to play with, the speaker cables are the easiest hence the question about whether upgrading from the LS2 would bring anything more to the mix?
Any thoughts gratefully received.
Cheers,
Tony

Re: Possible speaker cable upgrade
Buy the cable and if you don’t like it send it back to the Doc for a refund. Most if not all people will probably say that LS5 is better than LS2 but the only ears that matter are yours.

Yes, lots, but I suppose I would say that. Anyway you take no risk send back for full refund if unhappy.

OK Doc and thanks for the replies! I will measure the length of the ones I have and order some LS5 off the ebay store tomorrow. It's taken me a long time to arrive at the sound I like and the range of tweakage is now limited. I'd like to get some new depth before my ears let me down as I think they are the wildcard here, sad to say but that's life and getting old.

Re: Possible speaker cable upgrade
Cables arrived today, thanks Doc!
I have them on and immediate observations are very favourable! I will post more once I have had chance to fully appreciate them. It's been a long hard working week and my brain and ears are fried but I can tell straight away I am going to like these cables, loads of surprise extra detail showing up, especially in upper midrange and HF.
Big thumbs up!
