NVA Phono 2

Unread post by Andy-831 »

Having read with interest the reviews from the recent Huddersfield Phono stage bake off I wonder does anyone in the North West / Lancashire Yorkshire border area have a phono 2 that they could let me have a listen to?

Yeah I know I can take up the online trial offer, but as I have been meddling in the hobby for nearly 50 years and I have never knowingly heard any NVA equipment, ( but did own a Tresham System 1 back in the late seventies) my first move has to be to get an initial listen to make sure I like what I hear, which if I do then I will move onto that second stage and try it out in my own system.

Anyone able to help out?

Andy

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section which if I have could a mod move it to the correct section.

Andy, if you can't get a listen just buy it. You won't regret the decision.

I have never regretted buying it. I was going to go for the Phono 2 but my brother talked me into getting the extra psu. Not much arm twisting involved.

I have to agree, I've heard the Phono2 with one and two power supplies and it's definitely worth paying for the second. It really is a quality piece of kit with a huge sound stage with beautiful balance and poise.
My stuff; Toshiba SR-370/Mission 774 /Ortofon Quintet Black, Cambridge CXC CD transport/modified Musical Fidelity X DAC/modified Musical Fidelity X10v3 tube buffer, Nakamichi CA5E preamp, Passive RVC, Proton AA-1150 DMC power amp ,Mordaunt Short Signifer on original factory stands, NVA LS5, Cambridge NP30 network player, Mogami with Neutrik RCA, Sennheiser HD650, 600, Koss Pro4 AA.

SteveTheShadow has a Phono1 just down the road to you near Doncaster.

Others but I forget who has them. Look on equipment listed on their sig, or others will get back from work etc and post this evening.

Donny would be fine Doc but I am mindful I want to hear a Phono 2 and hopefully the full beenz version with extra power supply.

I will wait to see if anyone else replies locally.

Cheers
