A40s
A40s
The A40s I ordered arrived today, so I've connected them to my Cube 2s and have listened to 5 tracks so far.
Honestly, I don't even know where to begin. My Cubes have just exploded into life. It is bewildering, the improvement over my 8000Ms is absolutely phenomonal.
I will listen to them for a few days before sending in some proper feedback, but the initial impression is 'OMFG!'
Thank you.

Re: A40s
Happened to me again this morning, digging out an album I thought I new really well (Blackouts by Ashra). Sequencers clear as a bell, tuneful and beautifully blended together, guitar played with real feeling and bags of atmosphere I never remember hearing as clearly in my ATC active days, let alone the Linn/Naim ones when this album first came out. May not all be in the amps (P50/test A20), but put it this way, they don't hinder!
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

Re: A40s
I too have had my first NVA moment today!
Jimbob very kindly brought his A40's, P50, and various cables to my home and we hooked them up to my Squeezebox Touch and Beresford Caiman and listened for a couple of hours to various music via Tidal.
What can I say other than my Epos Elan speakers sounded fantastic. They did do anyway with my Creek Evolution amp, but my first impressions of the A40/P50 combo are extremely positive, and felt the NVA's delivered a punchier sound. Both James and I agreed that we preferred the P50 as the pre rather than when we used the Caiman as the pre, though to be fair there wasn't much in it.
I'm so pleased that I've had this opportunity to have a home demo with my set-up, and that NVA itch of mine just got a whole lot itchier!
Many thanks James, I hope one day to get a listen to your Allison 6's when they're up and running.
