Considering a AP10H
Thinking of trying headphones.
I already have a P50, A30 and a pair of A40.
What else is required apart from headphones (obv).
Also what stops the sound also coming from the speakers.
I sit quite a way from the kit, so what is best way to place the headphone amp?
Also suggestions for headphones, must not be too heavy, either open or closed back OK.
Thanks
S

Re: Considering a AP10H
Unless anyone tells me differently, I'd take the fixed level tape output from the P50 (or even the direct output as it's paralleled up) and put this via short interconnects to the AP10H input. Doing it this way and without unplugging anything, you simply turn the P50 down to minimum and use the volume on the AP10H for headphone use.

Re: Considering a AP10H
As Dave says is best. But it means long headphone leads and getting up to change volume. Alternative is the same as Dave says but long interconnects to your seat position and AP10h there and normal headphone lead, then you can adjust volume from your seat.
Headphones are opinions, so mine is if you want open back then Grado, closed back then Audio Technica ATX 50h.
(sorry had temp brain storm about closed back ones, corrected now)

Headphones for long term listening is also about comfort in my experience and what suits one head may not suit another...

Re: Considering a AP10H
I would suggest Grado SR80 for open backs or ATH M50 for closed backs, depending on where you listen to them,i would go for the grado's if you can...

Shame, the SR90's look to have been discontinued and there's a big step up to the SR120. I liked the 90's...

Sometimes,Dave,i think you live in a parallel universe to the rest of us. Grado never made an SR90 or an SR120.I would love to know where you heard them... The SR range was started in 1991 with the SR100,200 and 300,followed by the 125,225 and 325 in 1993.Here endeth the lesson for today.._D_S_J_R_ wrote:Shame, the SR90's look to have been discontinued and there's a big step up to the SR120. PS The SR60 and 80 were from 1994.
