The cat would like to thank NVA...
For his new box which arrived safely today...
Meanwhile instead of stroking him, his owner sits stroking his chin at the tiny marvels it held moments before.
There is some Linn jazz radio playing and making a very nice sound indeed.
The owner will give things a few days to run in and perhaps do a little write up on how it compares with his favourite integrated!
Out of the box the first thing he noticed is just how quiet the bits between the music are. The cat meanwhile purrs happily away.

Re: The cat would like to thank NVA...
So the cat has stopped purring
Well NVA amps as they open up tend to highlight other problems in the system, usually speaker related. A little speaker repositioning normally sorts this. There are some NVA Cubes for sale in classified and I have described how to optimise them to the acoustic. The same to a lesser extent applies to all speakers.
Muddy fudge means move in small increments further into the room and away from wall and corner, even just a few centimetres can do it. You may well find in a few days you have to adjust again and they sometimes eventually end up back where they are now.

Muddy Fudge ain't NVA amps, and neither is hard and relentless either IMO.
My eternal love and respect for Felis Catus took a huge nosedive this afternoon. Anguished cries from the kitchen led me to see a neighbour's puss knocking seven bells out of a wood pidgeon easily his size. Too late to save the bird as his neck had almost been chewed off by the time I got there and most of the feathers off his back had been pulled out all over the lawn - the vet over the road was closed too. It still took ten or more minutes for the battle to end and the little feline b****ard had a good meal, blood all over his chops and chest. We had to clear up the aftermath later. Little bugger doesn't know any different. His family have dogs and I suspect any cat-food left over gets polished off quickly and nothing being 'out' for lunchtime snacks that I remember our two cats having...
Wood pigeons may be vermin, but to see one suffer like that just brought out the spineless wuss in me and I'm ashamed.

Re: The cat would like to thank NVA...
Sorry mate it is nature, a fox would have done the same.
Nature has some very bizarre ways to kill you. There is a fungi whose spores are picked up by larvae in the ground that grow inside them and then they sprout mushrooms out of their brains to spread more spores. This is just the latest of many weird creations I have read about.
The big cats are probably the most civilised in killing, they bring down prey with claws which must hurt but they then throttle it before eating, many things in nature eat you while you are still alive.
