That is the difference in outlook after you have been told you are terminally ill. For me each birthday is a year further away from death and has a different significance and celebration. My birthday is not my Special Day, but the day I was told "probably 6 months and if you are lucky a year", that was coming up to three years ago, so May 30th is my birthday, and June 20th is my re-birth day.

The thing that really freaked me out was a Colonoscopy You are lying there looking at pictures of the inside of your arse while letting out continuous loud farts as they pump air up you. I couldn't stop laughing (why do farts make you laugh, are we all still 11 years old in reality). How the doctors and nurses keep a straight face I don'r know. Because I was laughing so much he showed how by moving the tube he could play a tune, well that made it even worse

I got a very mixed reception during a colonoscopy when I remarked that there were Tory M.P.s out there paying a fortune for what I was getting for free on the National Health. The doc looked like I'd just pissed in his pocket, and the one nurse I could see was looking everywhere but at me and trying not to laugh in front of the doctor.
