Do it step by step so you know what is making the difference. For me first step would be cable, and then pre-amp to SA, and then power amps and finally Cubes. Each step will show you how the music improves in each part of the system.

Agreed ! I may order the cables next week. I cant really afford much more than that anyway. I have put the Naim away as it was starting to get on my nerves, I havn't stop listening to the A40s all day and it gets better.Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote:Do it step by step so you know what is making the difference. Re: A40 Mk2 and P50 Burn in ?
Just a thought (and hope it isn't anything I did or didn't do!)...
If the P50 really is faulty on one input (Aux), why not consider having the SA upgrade done while the Doc has it back to check the wiring? I make a point of LISTENING to every P50 I've done, checking all inputs and sockets for proper continuity and do hope I haven't let you and the Doc down if it's one of 'mine' - these bloomin' things are a labour of love and a lot of effort goes into making anything NVA..

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

Re: A40 Mk2 and P50 Burn in ?
P50sa has a stepped attenuator volume system that rotates through sets of resistors, varying the volume by steps. Standard P50 gradually varies output volume with one varable resistance rotor.
Because each step of the P50sa is separate, the signal is clearer and better in control.

Ta! that is about it in a nutshell, as with all NVA upgrades it means more and better music.
