Yes, I would imagine that to be the case, never heard one myself though. Have you tried it yourself applemarc?

Yes heard it many times I would prefer most of the TT that appear on this site it does not sound that different from a Transistors Hydraulic reference or the JA Michell Engineering equivalent. I would prefer the Rosin Xerxes, Pink Triangle or LP12 possible even a SL1200 (but not sure about that one)

Just spoken to Tom the original owner who about to buy a AP50 he say that he bought the TT new and it cost about £100 with cartridge in about 1974
