The whole thing is bloody ridiculous, I was hounded from the site by Marco and a couple of others, and now Marco has been booted for carrying on the same thing with you and Jammy. So logic dictates they swallow their pride, admit they were wrong and re-instate me, but I am not holding my breath

I doubt I would post because the forum is as boring as a local British Women's Institute meeting discussing their cake making, but it is a question of principle.

its out , just one thing , forsaking adverts aint cheap it is £15 . But I suppose as it covers 3 months is not more expensive than 3 monthly mags .

At NEBO 5 last week we had a listen to a system with Ali Tait's BMU in circuit. As soon as the music started I was aware of the same effect in the bass I get on my own system which is a sort of thickening or echo effect. Neither of those descriptions is actually right but I can't really think of more appropriate words. It is an overall effect, not just on the bass but the whole spectrum, just immediately noticeable on the bass. However unlike in my system after 30 seconds or so It was no longer apparent to me and the music sounded just as good as it had previously, possible better. After hearing SRV do Tin Pan Alley I felt compelled to applaud, I only didn't because I had a glass in my hand with no where to put it down safely. Not to applaud the system but to applaud the superb musicianship, same as you would at a live performance. I've never felt the urge to applaud a recording before.

Discussing this with Nick and Ali and they suggested that the effect I noticed was because we were hearing more of the bass, what it actually sounds like.

So this week I have had another session with BMU in place BUT in my system I can still hear that bass thickening all the time unlike the NEBO system where it sounded natural. Got to conclude it may well be my system is not good enough to make the most of it. That in itself is another whole can of worms. There were some very good set-ups at NEBO that have made me think I need to have something of a re-evaluation there. Not sure what.
