Been doing some photos for James (Selby) to use for the new website he's building. Just a small selection, but see what you think...

These are just 'rough idea' snaps to get a taste of things - the next lot I'll invert the glass shelf to create reflections between kit & shelf, and the amps will be plugged in with the red light on. :)

Would be a hell of a lot easier if that acrylic was in matt finish.

Really nice gromit. Not sure that any more refective surfaces will work though but give it a go, I think the satin glass emphasises the gloss black acrylic nicely.

Top one is best. Bottom is OK. Back views: why not get really right in - make it a bit more graphical/abstract?.

This is what I'm wondering to be honest, the gloss black needs an opposite to bounce off texture-wise. The lines on the amps are so clear and simple, I'm mindful of keeping the image as clean cut as possible. The pictures need cleaning up a bit too to get rid of the odd blob here and there. They're under-exposed slightly to mask the inevitable bits of dust - it's a case of 'quick wipe with microfibre cloth - press shutter'. And repeat... :)

Thanks Jammy - it's a Canon EOS 7D. Lenses for the above were Canon 24-105L for the A40's and P50/A40 combo. The AP50 and P50 were with (my favourite) a Canon 50/f1.8 II

Ah the niffty fifty, great lens but very noisy. I had one but bought the f1.4 so I could use it around people in quiet places.

Nice shots and the would be great for arty backgrounds or headline images. I do however think that NVA would need straight on front / rear shots for individual product descriptions.

If you get the time (and metering right) try on a black background / cloth with ambient light. A polarising filter would also help.
