Ls6 biwire

Unread post by Latteman »

I’ve not ‘opened’ a speaker cable but was wondering how difficult it would be to set my ls6 to biwire- split in the cabinet to feed the mid bass & tweeter- is the cable split obvious?
Currently ls6 is direct to the mid bass then a short Ls2 feed to the tweeter
Cheers

I think Tomasz is the man to ask. LS6 is a bit expensive to be playing about with don't you think ?

It is a fairly straight forward but labour intensive job - you have 20 thicker and 28 fine very thin solid core cables in each run -there is no way of untwisting the solder end (I tried) so it has to be cut and then stripped again - be very very careful with thin ones as they brake easily - any questions - PM me

I found it relatively easy to tri-wire my LS6/Cubix combo and I am a novice In fact it's encouraged me enough to plan in the new year to split apart the thin and thick wires and sleeve them in PTFE and then put both sections inside a shielded outer. Happy to answer any questions you have Thanks Paul

It is not tricky at all it just take a bit more time than it looks like from "outside"
I am sure you stripped enough very thin wires (tone arm thin) that you will not have a problem - just reserve yourself a good couple of hours
