A win on eBay made me the proud owner of 3 Richard Allan drivers CG 12 @ 15 ohms, CP8 @ 15 ohms, a CB4 @ 8 ohms, crossover and a set of plans for a 3 way construction.
Instead I made a cube construction, 12” top, 8” & tweeter firing forward.
Please follow the links for pics.

Currently bi amped as the right speaker from 2 A20s. 12” & 8” in parallel and the CB4 it’s own A20.
No caps or resistors as I have no spares at the moment but playing as the right speaker opposite my smaller cube. I’ve lifted it off the floor with a short legged turntable stand as a temporary measure until I decide if I like it

Top work Mr latte. Recycling at its best. What old furniture did you butcher to make them ?

I often thought about upfiring my 12 incher and 5 inch mid but that made the top panel very big. As you know i have my 12 incher forward firing and mid up firing. The oppposite of you - interesting.

Thanks for the positive vibes
I’m gutted I only have one as these drivers don’t appear very often and at decent prices, got these three for £25!!!!
I recycled a vinyl storage cube and desk top from the kids bedroom we are Re decorating. If I don’t source more Richard Allan drivers I will go with Richard Dunn drivers 😉😂👍🏼

Initial listening is positive,

I made this a while ago and set it aside for a set of cube 2 clones pictured else where.
With the recent purchase of doc modded 8” drivers and tweeters I was going to use in the cube2 clones I was instead able to complete 2 large cubes as I also got 2 12” Fane POP 50s. (4 actually- more of their role later)
Unlike the forth coming BBCs I have tweeter & mid bass forward firing & 12” up firing.
1 A20 to 12” & 8” series / 1 A20 to tweeters (cap filter used here)
These have taken a few days to settle in and for me to get the support and positioning right.
Reading many posts and adapting ideas to suit my room and available materials to hand I have hopefully come to a happy point- suddenly they are in focus, pleasing bass, information detail and a sound stage I can enjoy. Music sounds effortless- I now know what disappearing speakers sound like lol
What did I do?
The additional Fane 12” drivers are glued to the base of the larger cubes- these are then placed in the hole of the top baffle of my cube2 clones )vacated by the driver)- the cubes are full of play sand and the cradle of the 12” driver is thus supported. Such a big difference- I’m very pleased
Aesthetically a coat of black paint will improve that- pics to follow

Few updates- top to finish
Decided against a side firing mid, aka BBC, as I have glass either side in the room- a door & a window and wasn’t sure how it would work

They look really interesting! How do they sound? Have you compared them to cubes?

Difficult to answer as my system has under gone lots of changes in the last 9 months; the consistency has been nva component improvements.
Compared to my diy cubes, approximately cube 2 size, these offer addition depth and scale, it’s not what I expected- you cannot tell what each driver is doing as there is cohesion to the sound- it’s just there and really enjoyable.
