Those Russian PIO's are the dogs danglies m8.

I was using expensive Audyn reference 3.3uF caps in my Doc mod JPW P1's but the big Russian green uns showed them the door in no uncertain fashion

Enjoy!

The first couple of steel angle pieces going in to these MS902S. You cant actually see it for the pile of three bricks I have weighing them down. I also glued the end L part and pushed it right up hard against the front baffle.

I have masked off one of the tweeters and plastidip is being shaken as I type this

I am hoping this will "tame" the metal dome tweeter a bit and make it a bit smoother. If it is successful then I might be doing more of this tweeter doping

Right, off now to spray this metal dome.

Tweeter's metal dome has been doped. A coat of plastidip primer went on first then the black plastidip top coat an hour later.

It looks like there are areas not covered with the top coat in the photo. Must be some reflection or something as I have a nice even coat applied. Will take the masking off before it becomes permanently stuck on.

Don't know if any more coats will be required, will leave it at that for now.

Just watched a youtube video about how to replace ferrofluid. That is half an hour of my life i will never get back.. At least i know what to do now so will have a go at some point.

Funny how one job triggers off an avalanche of others

Clean it / loosen it up and liquid it again with a solvent and a cotton bud and don't bother to replace it. Don't try to flush it out it may loosen up something that shouldn't.

Excuse me for being thick Doc, but what kind of solvent do you mean ?

Shite! standard stuff, forgot the name, you get it at Chemists. Clear colour alcohol based.

Second tweeter dome now sprayed with plastidip. More steel glued in. Nearly ready to listen to these, just need to sort a new back panel with sockets and wire everything up.

I expect i will have to add more bison kit to the mid bass and also play around with a padding resistor for the tweeter. The original crossover did not have a padding resistor so not sure what value i will need here.

Glued some motr steel in the Marantz cabs also. Inching closer like a snail.
