Thanks very much Doc. Will save me a job.Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote:I can supply the tweeter bits, only a couple of quid so I will throw them in the box with the drivers FOC.
It would also be handy if you could supply me with the cut out dimensions needed for the 12" and 5" .
Thanks, Stu

Bass 280mm
Mid 125mm
Tweeter 80mm
I would give a couple of extra mm for wiggle room.

Re: Doc modding Marantz imperial 7
Bison kit ordered, should arrive tomorrow
I think with the amount of steel I am planning to put in there is a danger that I won't be able to move them
Might have to revise my plans. I presume that getting steel right in the corners is not as important as putting it in the centre of the panels ? Is my theory correct that the middle of the panels will resonate much more than the corners or am I talking a load of ???????

Re: Doc modding Marantz imperial 7
I have managed to get the second speaker's grille surrounds sanded back to the baffle level and so remove all the damage.
Just need to get the drivers and then arrange for the new baffles to be made.
Drivers all lined up the centre line of the baffle i should think. They will fit in but not much baffle left between the drivers. Good job i will be sticking this new baffle on top of the original one which will provide support. Might put an additional brace in between the mid and tweeter. I think i will get the edges of the new baffle slightly angled and the drivers rebated to cut down on edge diffraction. That might be a load of but i might as well do it ant way.

Thanks for letting me know Doc,
Can't wait to get started. These speakers are going to kick arse.
