I would like info on the Chinese Doc Modded tweeter please.

I know it might be a difficult question to answer but how close is it in sound quality to the Visaton's? What improvements could the Visaton's potentially give?

The Visaton is a lovely-sounding tweeter. Smooth and accurate.

The current cut out is 78mm so if I went for the Visaton's they would probably have to be glued in because I don't think the screws will be able to get a good fixing into the baffle. Is the faceplate diameter larger on the Chinese Doc Mod tweeters? If not I'll probably end up using some tweeters out some damaged cabinets that I have for the project I am considering at the moment.

Faceplate dia 110mm - hole dia 70mm with two blips or 90mm overall.

Interesting, the drivers that I have already also have a 110mm faceplate if I remember correctly, they were bought cheaply several years ago while I was visiting Australia, probably of Chinese origin. I had to file out a couple of spaces to fit them into the existing hole.

They don't sound too bad as they are but I am sure that they could be improved upon.

Question for anyone who knows.

How long do these drivers take to run in fully ?

I am not sure how many hours I have put on mine, the big 12" have had less than the 5" as I had little cabs running for longer than with the bass cube added.
