resurrecting this old thread i have just bought some tweeters to get my mordaunt short pageant 2's up and running,i quite fancy having a play with them and being a welder fabricator getting the plates are no problem.is there any other mods i could do whilst im at it?
Yamaha NS1000M speakers,Pioneer PLC-590 turntable,,Alphason HR-100S-MCS/Zeta tonearms,Denon 103sa cartridge ,Sony 700ES Amp,Sony X555ES CD Player, Nakamichi ca5 pre amp.

Remove all wadding and any panel damping. Do that first then fit the plate, listen to each in turn and report to us, and then we can add more mods if you want.

Block the port .
remove the x-over on the bass driver and damp it .
Buy some doc mod drivers already dampened and replace .

ok here's the canidate for the doc mods,ive owned ms pageants before and they are not bad speakers,the isophon tweeters arrived today so ive put them together to listen before i start anything,i will recap them and then add the steel plate,listening at each step.the bass driver is a ms dsb 208.
i dont know if its because my listening postion is different (near field) or they are better suited to the room than the ditton 66's but they are sounding rather nice in their current state.

speakers have just been recapped and sounding better,could someone tell me what i can expect to hear from lining the cabinet with steel plate please?
