I have the same vague sort of memory as Tomasz, in that it was actually building a pre with a remote that persuaded Richard that he would never build any more. I might be totally wrong of course. This looks like its just an NVA case with a remote-controlled motorised pot in it though.

Richard never mentioned a remote control on the forum, ever.

I seem to remember RD said that he would build them for, for example, people who were disabled and couldn't keep getting up to adjust the volume etc..

I remember Richard's comments on LDRs for the purpose and his comment that they would be illegal due to the Cadmium content. Otherwise he was not in favour of remote controls. I can't see that a motorised potentiometer would be a good idea; the motor would be noisy, electrically and mechanically, and the resolution wouldn't be good without a gearbox. We have to trust Tomasz on this I think.

He didn't like the result and vowed never to do it again, but the customer was happy. Can't say, for sure, if it's this one. Tomasz recalls it as an integrated amp, but he could be mistaken.
Yep - I think we could find a number of RDs posts telling us how the remote ferked up the sound.
