There was a thing in the 60's about omni speakers, started in Scandinavia (mostly Sweden) with Sonab. Japanese made some because they always jump on any passing bandwagons. JVC made some hanging ones. They are interesting but not based on the semi omni design principles I use which root back to the USA and Roy Allison.

There are still a few of this type that I see in pics of crazy rooms at Hamburg show and similar.

These were my faves in the 70s as a teenager. I always wanted a pair.

The resemblance of this cabinet shape to that of my present speakers is not a coincidence.
DIY NVA amplification ( roughly equivalent to NVA A60) BTE Designs passive preamp, BTE Designs Lenco L75 turntable, Rega R200 arm, Goldring E3 cartridge, NVA Phono 1
Musical Fidelity M1 DAC, AppleTV4 with Apple Music subscription, ripped CDs streamed via WD MyCloud Home Duo NAS, with PLEX media server.
Speakers - Sealed cabs with Fane 12-250-TC 12" full range drivers. Also, Winslow Burhoe/Roy Allison/Richard Dunn influenced semi-omnidirectional.
