Little power, soft clipping all the time, backwards coupling capacitors in the power amp as well as marginal ratings for the supply ones. AND the bloody thing is twenty five years or so old..

Ah well, buy a sub £300 Cambridge Audio, or an AP20 with Phono 1 and smile smugly

So long as the new owner treats it like his uncle did, he should be alright.

if it's never been used how did he test it?

Do have to admit I have a Nait1 which is my kitchen amp for the computer, used solely because it fitted into a unit perfectly - the unit has been re-arranged but my wife won't let me change it as she likes its retro look....which is a shame as I bought if for very little off eBay and clearly it would sell for quite a bit more.....I shall prevail one day, when she lets me

You're being thick.... Where's your female psychology?

1. Research an alternative amp based on dimensions.
2. Disconnect one of the rear phono plugs... the amp is now not working.
3. Throw up hands in despair as you know just how much your nearest-and-dearest loves the music in the kitchen.
4. Stash the Nait in your shed behind the brewing kit.
5. Buy a replacement amp as per research.
6. Demonstrate the musical qualities of the new (much cheaper) amp.
7. Sell the Nait for an eye-watering sum.
8. Retain some of the cash for a weekend away / dinner out / new frock / something for your wife.
9. Buy something you want.

Easy-peasy.
