JBL speakers

Would these 4315's be big enough?

They do look good but no they are not big enough. I want the ones with the fifteen and the horn cell mid-range. Can't remember the exact model but they were about £3500 20 years ago and were sold into the UK so I know there must be some about. Trouble with these speakers is they are so good people rarely motivated to sell them. I mean, what are you going to replace them with.....?

All those drive units means a more complex crossover remember...

For domestic use, the L65 Jubal was coloured in the mid but you could hear through it easily enough. Not mirror imaged either but that never seemed an issue either. I know a nutter or two has used the twin 15" Soffit-mount studio jobbies at home, but I'm not sure a guitar twelve feet wide slamming you into the floor is actually 'High Fidelity' listening ;) Oh I don't know though

Such a shame that now, the big monitors are there in older studios for show mostly and are rarely used these days I'm told :(
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

The really big JBL's seem to sell for high prices.

There's more of them on US ebay.

I like the drinks cabinet styling on these. And the price is almost reasonable by big old JBL standards.

These 1946 Altecs are just the thing for a billionaire collector.
I would love to bake them off against some modern little 2 way ported squawk boxes to give us an idea how far backwards speaker design has gone in 68 years.
