These things are bought like we do old small Wharfedales, JPW's, Royds etc. by overly wealthy audiophools who regard a £3K phono stage as 'low budget!' I dare say they'll end up somewhere in the far east and who cares if they still meet the original specification
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

Damn right. If my recent experience of 70's KEF drivers is anything to go by they're all f*cked now.

Other things have been subject to this type of excessive bullshit hype. Old Leak and other valve amps are making stupid prices as well, watch this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251628331754? ... EBIDX%3AIT already at a daft price for something this old and mediocre.

Damaged Leak 20's are now fetching high bids, mostly from the far east.

Have you heard the Leak 20 in your younger years?

With a sensitivity rating of 82 dB, these KEF speakers efficiently convert power to clear sound

82dB efficient?

Yeah, it's a strange thing to say about speakers that convert 99.9% of the power fed to them into heat.
