Spendor S8
Heard a pair at a London shop in 2003. Very nice midrange with a laid back warm bass.

Not booked, but a break end of Sept for a few days or a week and two weeks in Cuba in December - we hope. House moving may interfere though.

Re: Spendor S8
The S and especially the SE series are a departure from Spendors of old. Smooth definitely, but used with the right gear, NOT stodgy at all. I loved 'em!!! Like the old Spendor speakers I have, which are NOT as neutral, NVA gear and cables should be a marriage made in heaven I think.
By the way, the A and now D series are a further tightening up and 'leaning out' of the old 'chesty' BBC balance and if heard without the badges being seen, I doubt many would recognise any family resemblance to BC1's etc. of old.
By the way, BC1's in good working order can easily be sorted out regarding the bass issues as long as they're not played too loud

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...
