Nope, haven't got room for them or the time to fettle them. If someone had asked I would pick them up as they are near to me.

They wouldn't replace Cubes.

Never heard any so I am wondering what it is about them that makes them worth seeking out? And do they just need bringing back to spec or is there special fettling that can be done?

Lots can be done or just leave them as is, they are a bit special in those Akai's type of way in standard form.

I've just recommended these on the What Hi-fi forum for someone wanting more bass oomph for house / techno than what his Diamond 10.1's can provide. He has a £400 budget. I think the Magisters would be better for his needs than the "Yamaha HS8, Mackie MR8, Rockit RP8, the Presonus Eris 8" which another member recommended.

Don't know why I bother. Looks like the Original Poster on What Hi-fi is going to buy a pair of shitty little Presonus Eris 8's. You can lead a horse to water...

"You can lead a horse to water..." but he is more likely to piss in it. :(
