Goodmans Magister

Just spotted a working pair of Goodmans Magister speakers for sale at £30. They are 3 way, with a 15" bass driver, cone midrange and dome tweeter. Any good?

These are seriously good speakers. Not fast and lucid like a Royd or Cube, but very sweet and musical with excellent scale. Far better than the old Celestions raved about at AoS. I would put a pair of Magisters up against 15 inch Tannoys any day, for me they are less coloured and better.

I had A pair until recently, bloody marvellous things! Well, well, well worth the money, just not the best looking speaker in the world.

I think if you leave the grills off they are hunky funky looking, but not wife peaceful relationship material.
