Hi-Fi Society Blog

Unread post by savvypaul »

Hi peeps,

I have set up a new blog with the aim of creating more interest in bake-offs and other get-togethers.

It's a very simple affair, bringing together information from around the forums to share in one place.

I'll also be adding some interviews with enthusiasts who have organised and attended bake-offs.

I need to add more to the Loans page so please let me know any other manufacturers / dealers who routinely offer this.

You can see the blog here: Hi-Fi Society Blog

Please do feel free to comment on articles. I also need you to let me know if I've missed any recent bake-off activity or any upcoming bake-offs.

It's bare bones at the moment but I wanted to get it out ahead of MCRU's upcoming bake-off and in plenty of time for the WAM show in March and the AudioJumble in February.

Let me know what you think.

Many thanks,

Paul

You need to make sure you publish if any of these events are restricted to and to what and who is banned, as a lot have some sort of stooopid forum nonsense attached and those ones need the piss taken out of them.

There won't be any mention of forum nonsense. That can stay on forums.

I'm not arranging attendance for anyone - just showing them what is happening.

The idea is to get people together, not to push them apart.

So how do you know if you are welcome to attend, if you are going to do the job do it properly. Advertising a listing or any product or event has to include who is welcome and who isn't.

I will start - if I do a show again as with the last ones in 2018 if anyone who has banned me from anything comes in my room and is recognised or pointed out to me they will be asked to leave, if they refuse they will be told to leave, if they still refuse security will be called to throw them out.

You contact the person organising it via the relevant forum thread - not through my blog.

If the original thread contains that information then it will be shown - I am pointing to threads that already exist, not creating new ones.

Then, if I point to a thread that you have created, and that information is in the thread, people will be able to read it.

Just add it to EVERYTHING I do.

Same with buying NVA if I see one of these knob heads the order will be cancelled. Anyone is welcome to take up the day one, then this changes.

I was not aware they do a loan scheme. It is well hidden away on their website. I plan to take this up on the Mscaler.

Thanks Paul, I generally enjoy reading about bake offs and I would have missed those, don't read other forums much so good to have a ' one stop shop' to refer to. Best of luck, will be checking back to see how it develops!
