RING AROUND THE ROSIE West Country Tales series Nanette Newman (who was in one of me alltime fav movies, "The Wrong Box")
Mother lives alone with her daughter who has a dark streak - likes to wring the necks of doves

THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE Ace Of Wands series Beautiful people are holding a fete and only old folk are invited to play the games and win the expensive prizes. This series had a hip music intro: poppsych (with mellotron) by one Andrew Bown. I'm finkin' this has to be ALAN Bown.

TO WIT TO WOO West Country Tales (The premise of this series was that anyone from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire could submit a short story - period & hopefully supernatural . The "best" of these stories would be dramatized for TV. The combination of very simple ,amateur writing with narration over the acting, makes for a rather shoite tv series.)

sucks.
same like you audiofools do.

PEACOCK PIE Ace of Wands

Said to be the scariest of the series but in fact is anything but . Those 80s/90s Brits had the frighteners put on them easily, it would seem.
An older man has the mindpower to make anyone do anything . So he uses it to collect money to pay off the measley sum he owes his sweet old landlady. Roight.
The lead good guy in this series has the first name of Tarot.

Fuck off already.

GHOST RIG (2001, UK)

Firstly, its not a ghost. Its a shape-changer. Second, its pony and trap.

Moronic movie. Would appeal to fans of a KISSconcert . Which is to say , a steaming turd all way through.

Actually the idea is a strong one. What do your worse nightmares consist of? Answer: some threat WHICH YOU CANNOT RUN AWAY FROM. Hence the best horror stories are set on remote, isolated, preferrably closed scenes.(As in Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness", a movie of which is yet to be made - but, a few, roughy based on.)
And this idea of a rig is a good one. Too bad its full potential was not attempted. A truely HAUNTED oil rig in the middle of the cold Artic sea would have worked much better.

instead we have a shapechanger stalking environmental activists. I suppose the average working riggers are unawares cos theys busy cornholing each other (as is the way of things on these rigs. Just ask Jammy Bampot on Snakeoil.)

DETECTORISTS season 3

goes to prove you can make GENTLE comedies without fucking slapstick or endless sexual inuendo (which makes shit loike Are You Being Served? one of the few Brit comedies really watched in American Mongoland. Speaking of Retardland, you fink a comedy series on spankings or trainspotting woud ever have a chance there? That is the land of evil CEO series and rabbitting rich people afternoon, coffee-table dramas.)

GUARDIANS OF THE ABYSS
Hammer House of Horror series
sacrifice to make a semi-diety take human form.

Inconceivably boring.

.................
BABY
Beasts series.
A young Jane Wyman (Barnaby's wife on Midsommer Murders).
quite good.
Young couple move into a country farm-cottage & have an interior wall taken down. Behind the brick they find a clay urn with a dried-up Nasty inside. The pregnant wife feels certain its an evil charm to effect abortion because the former owners had no luck breeding animals and there is curse on the land.

DEAD AND BURIED (us, '81,James Farentino)

Not bad, even though somethings just don't fit. Rather unique surprize ending which should tie things together but .....

From creators of Alien.

Small town "size of a postage stamp" getting one gory murder after another. Often peeps just passing through.

Sherrif can't figure it out. Then he comes upon a film showing not one murderer but 20 or so townfolk - including his wife!

NIGHT OF THE MARIONETTES Supernatural series

This one is very good (so you have to suck me off.)

Scholar is writing a book on poet Shelley.
He takes his family to Geneva ,Switzerland to do research.
No one knows where Shelley,Byron and Mary Godwin went after staying at the villa Deodatee.
The scholar happens upon an "inn" not far away. He finds a book of poems in the room signed PBS.
He witnesses a bizarre marionette show and thus learns the direct inspiration for Mary Shelley's famous novel of horror.

NECROMANTIK ('87 West Germany)

I'm getting lazy , so...

"A street sweeper who cleans up after grisly accidents brings home a full corpse for him and his wife to enjoy sexually, but is dismayed to see that his wife prefers the corpse over him."

Bitch. And he got her an especially juicy, putrescent one from out the bog.

That's gratitude for you.
