Re: Should Britain remain in Europe. ?

Indeed the origins of the word refer to the idea that a bundle of sticks together cannot be broken, unlike a single stick (see also: King Lear). It therefore could be used to describe any group of people who band together for mutual suport and to achieve collective goals. Therefore outside of its va...

Re: Should Britain remain in Europe. ?

There seems to be some confusion as to what fascism is. It has nothing to do with opposing immigaration or racism although it can incorporate both things, as can most poitical philosophies. I can't really see that The Freedom party have much in common either in beliefs or operationally with Moseley'...

No, they are a semi-omni design like the NVA. The main difference is the price which is in 'get out of my shop you deadbeat' territory.

Re: One for the vinyl naysayers / CD fanboys.

Correct - you can't stereo the bass toom low as you wouldn't have much playing time on your record and the needle won't track it. At what point the bass goes to mono will vary from record to record. Try a jazz quartet with the upright bass off to the left of the stage and see if the stereo image var...

Re: CD Sources with NVA?

You just bought a great player.

If your amp makes it sound cold and hard then change the amp.

Re: CD Sources with NVA?

Depends what you mean by bright. Bright to me is a bit toppy i.e mid and top dominating the bass - but I've noticed that bright to others means a bit harsh, a bit shouty, a bit forced in the midrange. Re: CD Sources with NVA?

You don't need the CD player to match with NVA you need the CD player to give a presentation that you like. My rule of the thumb is: Sony - neutral Technics - exciting Marantz - rich and warm There are some exception to that, obviously. Best I have used? - Technics SLP1200 B - better than anything (...

Re: Attenuated Interconnects for CD players

Attenuators ruin the sound. Sell the Naim amp and buy a passive pre and a decent power amp and find out how good CD actually is.

Re: Origin Live

I asked someone who should know what he is talking about what arm he would recommend for an SL1200 and the answer was 'Audiomods'.

I think they are about a grand so more than I would personally want to hoike on a tonearm, but if I did that is what I would go for.
