I think it was originally coined by Martin Colloms as a piss take of the Linn Naim subjective reviews and reviewers in the late 70's. It sort of stuck even being used in the magazine that promoted the whole thing The Flat Response, they always referred to themselves as that and when it become Hi-Fi...

I read elsewhere that a separate, dedicated consumer unit for the circuit is desirable. My electrician says 'completely unnecessary'. Any thoughts?

New consumer unit - time for dedicated supply to BMU?

I require a new consumer unit so that I can have some more sockets and other kit installed around the house. So, thinking that this would be a good time to add a dedicated ring to supply my NVA BMU. Any tips for the installation - cable choices, consumer unit choices / rating, socket quality etc? No...

Giving a full value trade-in on items up to 2 years old is the most flexible, simple and helpful thing I've heard of by any hifi manufacturer or dealer, ever. If the downside is that Doc fails to embellish his posts with the milk of human kindness...I'll live with that. Ironic that on this occasion ...

I must admit I am dreading my next PC being Windows 10. It appears to be everything I would hate.

Not keen on Apple profit margins or their 'nanny state' operating system...but it may have to be.
