Re: Richard Dunn
Read this today! Very sad news indeed! I had some phone calls with Richard since I have joined the forum and he always was very kind, polite and knowledgeable in many areas, not only audio. A real pleasure to talk with. I would have loved to meet him in person one day... His quality products - espec...

Re: Phono 3 / RFI problems
Check cartridge set up. MCs are far more sensitive to set up than MMs. Could be dirty or worn / duff stylus. TT are a constant battle to keep on song. Thanks Richard! Agreed, to keep TTs on song is constant work. Both TTs work fine, currently :-) Just remembered you had MC through a SUT. SUTs are d...

Re: Phono 3 / RFI problems
Thanks to all for the valuable inputs. Very much appreciated! I did some more tests over the weekend and had some success. :-) The Wifi in "on" or "off"-mode on our older Pirelli high speed modem / router made no difference / improvement regarding the RFI noise. So, I could elimi...

Re: NVA Users and Lurkers
If someone from Austria (near Vienna) is interested to listen to NVA, I'm fine to offer a listening session (including Espresso or beer / Juice). Audition of P50sa, A80s MkI, TSCS (and hopefully soon again phono 3 / BBPSU) possible. Advance notice via PM appreciated (due to job). Valid also for Vien...

Re: Phono 3 / RFI problems
One last thing, I did approach Doc about 6 months ago to ask whether he could make longer umbilical power supply cords to get the phono stage box further away from the PSU's he said he could and that there would be no loss of SQ. So maybe that's another option to consider. If you try the tinfoil tr...

Re: Phono 3 / RFI problems
I don’t have a phono 3 but have had my fair share of phono stages- namely Bellari Vp129 that was very sensitive to power supplies (wall warts) the best cure was an additional earth wire from phono stage to an adapted single pin plug- I know this was mentioned and tried- just my experience- use one ...

Re: Phono 3 / RFI problems
In an apartment then your neighbours (above, below, beside) could be all running Wifi on different frequencies. You can check this with a free smartphone app like WifiAnalyzer. Maybe there is an RF source close to the HiFi. Thanks Fretless for your valuable tip! Didn't know about such an app. Wifi ...

Re: Phono 3 / RFI problems
When I was struggling with finding the "right spot" for my Phono 2 I temporarily wrapped it in tinfoil to act as a Faraday Cage which seemed to work until I found a spot far enough away from the other electronics to allow it to be removed. Not an elegant solution I accept but reassuring e...
