Re: Houdini

I have posted a link to a needle drop on Audio Addicts - a FLAC file. I have not done the without version, as I really can not be bothered to take the Houdini off again. With the Houdini on, the music seems snappier, and better focused to me. Most importantly, it sounds more “real”. Obviously, I ha...

Re: Houdini

Yes, £300 is expensive. But how much is a tone arm upgrade? Certain users state that they were looking at better tone arms, but since buying a Houdini they are now looking at phono stages and cartridges instead. I am not one of them, as I already own one of the best tone arms for an SL1200. Sure, th...

Re: Houdini

Kevin you spend more time evaulating than listening. That much is evident from your posts elsewhere. That's fine, but it deos not indicate satisfaction. I tried loads of different women till I was 43. And inquisitive is a synomin for dissatisfied. That was when I first bought it to see what I thoug...

Re: Houdini

I'm of the opinion that if you have a desire to try the houdini you are dissatisfied with your hifi. Furthermore I am willing to bet the houdini will not sate your dissatisfaction. Furthermore those that try it will swear they are not dissatisfied but the very act of trying will betray thier uttera...

Re: Houdini

You will need some more M2.5 nylon bolts to pass around as well.

You do know it is a money back guarantee? If you don’t like it, I think you lose the postage cost back to Funk.

Re: What's in an enzyme.

I will be keeping an eye on this thread, as the results will be interesting.
I have been contemplating buying some enzyme cleaner for vinyl, but I shall wait and see now.

Re: Houdini

To be honest and open, I am not here to “shill” this product, as I did not get offered a cheap one, but I am happy to respond to questions, if I can. Obviously they will be based on my experience. If you have any technical questions about it, you need to ask elsewhere.

Re: Houdini

I used a 4mm high density graphite spacer, an arm lift and a couple washers to maintain the height and weight differences at the head shell. Only a minor tweak of the VTF was required due to the slight difference in weight. The Houdini adds about 2g at the head shell normally, as they use nylon bolt...

Re: Houdini

I have no friendship with Arthur. I have never met him, or spoken directly to him, but have exchanged e-mails with him. Most of these mails have been about a problem I encountered with Houdini. It arrived in a plastic bag, with no instructions, but they are available on the net. So, I fitted my trig...
