Re: PMC
...could not agree more with the comments about the new '23, 24, 25 and all the lean back ones since. I have listened to them at my local Audio t and they just sound bland and boring, totally unexciting. They built the reputation old the old models and totally thrown it away on the new budget range...

Re: Apple music announcement and it's effect on the streaming market
Interesting Stu, Apple have some really clever speakers in the current MacBook Pro series, I bought a 2018 15” version recently and playing music on it is remarkable, it sounds at though the speakers aren’t even in the computer. Transferring that technology into a hi-fi speaker might produce room f...

Re: NEAT Acoustics. Any users here?
Whilst I appreciate that "low efficiency, slimline ported speakers" may be far from ideal we have to accept that speakers have to fit in the domestic environment. We don't all have the luxury of a dedicated listening room. Sure other types of speaker sound better but aesthetics are importa...

A very valid point DQ and of some importance, especially so if they neither acknowledge the fact nor say where their drivers come from.Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 5:51 pm If they don't make a selling point of driver manufacture , they are bought in. This rule is universal

Re: Using Power Amps without a Pre Amp
(quiet at the back I like having a remote control) Could NVA not re-introduce the P20 preamp with just a motorised Alps volume control. would this not also make it more inviting for new NVA users to get on the bottom rung of the ladder. In this one thread we have the OP asking to do away with a pre...

Re: Using Power Amps without a Pre Amp
Not really imo paul, because its dependent on what the output voltage of their source is and the efficiency of their speakers is Yes the power amp is going to do the same in each system, but the ancillary components are not, your cubes, magnums and the heresys are a case in point, im sure that the ...

Re: Using Power Amps without a Pre Amp
Volume pot position is completely irrelevant. It is completely dependent on the output voltage of the source, and the initial gain of the power amp. Think of it this way, full volume from a system is not attenuated at all, all a volume pot/attenuator does is to reduce the voltage that the first sta...
