Managed to bag another pair of Minstrel's for £75! Cabinets are a little tatty but the driver's are all spot on so will keep these for spare parts.

Yeah I will have to go ever so slightly larger with the cabinets to compensate for the steel plate and increased cabinet thickness. I think I will be sticking with ported cabinets which I suppose gives me the headache of trying to learn the science behind size and depth of the port

Think I'll be going for 18mm ply. I prefer working with ply to chipboard. As far as drivers go, the qtx ones the doc used are readily available so I'll try them first before looking at other options. I've got plenty of bison glue and plastikote so hopefully I can get the doping dialled in

I had a pair for a while, most enjoyable they were too! There's a tidy pair on eBay at the moment that were tempting me til the Minstrels came along.
