Re: Cartridge for Pro-Ject Debut II

I tried the AT95E and also the DL110 (both of which i still own near new packed somewhere) on my RPM4 and ended up sticking the supplied Ortofon 510mk2 (what Project used to fit back then) back on the arm. Should have gone higher up the 500 series. I understood that these arms need higher compliance...

Re: Cartridge for Pro-Ject Debut II

I am no expert. Have a very modest Project RPM4 from almost 20 years ago, which i only ever dust off once in a blue moon to play. The one thing i learnt (the hard way), is I believe the Project arms need a cartridge with compliance of circa 20.

Also played Rough and Rowdy Ways yesterday. Surprisingly good. When I thought I reached the last track, it went on and on, I thought it’ll never end

And here I thought the TB S was a bit of an overkill. This is a sledgehammer to a nut

Great job making it work.

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.

Really pleased with the Tinker Board S. It boots 'blind' and streams into the main system for an outlay of less than £200 (PSU and cable included). And PC numpty like me could set it up. Bought a Mac Mini 4 years back to use as a 'music server'. Admittedly, I was clueless. and before Vomunio and the...

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.

The Tinkerboard already has very good SQ on its own. The rest (reclocker, Jitterbug, etc.) Is all fine-tuning. Should be possible to run the initial setup of Volumio from a smartphone or tablet, anything on your home network (wired or WiFi) with an internet browser will do. Have fun! Many th...

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.

My Inakustik Exzellenz USB finally arrived today, all the way from Berlin and shopping list complete. Had to also buy a micro usb adapter fr ebay to connect power via LPSU (rather underestimated power supply issues). Will attempt to set up the TB tomorrow, if i can get hold of a PC for long enough a...
