Re: Krautrock - an appreciation

The term "Krautrock" wasn't invented in Germany and wasn't meant as a compliment, but afterwards was taken over, and now stands for a lot of German bands, mostly of the seventies. When we take the definition of the 4/4 beat, then Hawkwind for example has to be called "Krautrock",...

Re: Krautrock - an appreciation

Missy, I have largely dismissed you as a troll but your last few posts here where you have explained instead of *stated* have been fascinating, you should do it more often. I am far from expert in music of any specifics, I very much focus on music that shows me what equipment does. Krautrock I alwa...

Re: Krautrock - an appreciation

I think the border between Krautrock and Prog is fluent. Jane, as you mentioned is often classified as Krautrock here in Germany, but were called the "German Pink Floyd" as well. Embryo was called Krautrock, too, but today you would say it's worldmusic, because they let themselves be influ...

Re: Best double live lp set

Has to be: Ten years after - "Recorded live" blurb from cover: this album is a truthful recording of Ten Years After with no overdubs or additives...... So good you can almost smell the atmosphere  I agree, one of the best, too! This thread should be turned to "Best double liv...

And for those who like it a bit faster: "Live At Paddington Town Hall 12th December 1977 " by Radio Birdman and " Hard Wired in Ljubljana" by Dead Moon.

Re: Best double live lp set

Hawkwind - Space ritual? If it was a double LP I might agree with that. Wot?? Space Ritual IS a double. Space ritual is semi-live: They reworked it afterwards in the studio by playing over the live recording. But as this record is already mentioned, I chose "Dream Letter - Live in London 1968&...

I call that lp, "Wall of Dolls".
That's what it is in the inner of the cover.
