Re: Nasty high pitches tone
No, the tone is consistent regardless of interconnects connected, or source selected.

Re: Nasty high pitches tone
I tried wrapping a few layers of tin (aluminium) foil around the amp, but it made no difference to the high pitched tone and increased the slight background noise.

Re: Nasty high pitches tone
I think my skull is too thick to worry about the physical effects. More worried about my mental health from the bloody tone.

Re: Nasty high pitches tone
Could easily be either. Living in close proximity to multiple apartments, and also in direct sight of an enormous electricity substation. I have already emailed the electricity company to ask them about it, but got a fairly standard reply saying it wasn't them. As I don't want to sell my NVA setup a...

Re: Nasty high pitches tone
The tone stays on when the power is turned off. Fades away after about 10 seconds.

Nasty high pitches tone
I've recently moved to Singapore, and am having problems with a nasty high pitched tone through my speakers. It's distracting to the point of making it very difficult to listen to music. I am living on the 18th floor in a pretty busy environment for wifi signals etc. I also live about 200m from the ...

Re: Mono-ing my NVA amp
As I understood it, it was about turning the stereo signal into two mono signals. Apparently this should remove the vertical information from the cart, which should focus the mono image and reduce surface noise? I'm not sure if it'll make any difference, but thought it was the kind of thing I should...

Mono-ing my NVA amp
I've just got some mono records, and have been told that for best playback I should press the mono button on my amp. As it doesn't have one, I could get the same effect of summing together left and right by connecting an interconnect from the left to the right of the tape output. Is this safe / sens...

Re: AP80 stepped attenuator?
It will be an out not an in. It could be a volume controlled out for second power amp for bi-amping or a direct out for a headphone amp. Took the plunge and connected it up to an input of my AP70. It's volume controlled, so I'm now running the AP70 on bass driver duty and the AP80 on mid and tweete...
