Re: Help me with amp and cable upgrade decisions!
So that’s one for pre amp, one for speaker cable and one for the amps! (although Doc’s opinion is based on practical shipping advice)

Re: Help me with amp and cable upgrade decisions!
Re power amps, are the EPOS ES22 power hungry? Complex or minimal crossover? What is the size of your room and what volumes do you listen at? They are minimal crossovers. In a very large room at the moment, but at a smaller end of it! Not sure I’d say they were power hungry, but they certainly have...

Help me with amp and cable upgrade decisions!
My amps were broken in a house move and now the (not very generous) insurance payout has given me an opportunity to change / upgrade my system. Due to buying B stock and used bargains I have been running an AP80 and AP70 with LS5 cables to my Epos ES22. Interconnects are mix of sound cord, old sound...

Re: How do you cocksuckers archive....
I go by chronological order of when I bought it. Just have to keep adding at one end. Also has the added bonus of making no sense to anyone else.

Re: BEATLES THE wHITE aLBUM
I quite like the rambling nature of the album. OK, there's some average tracks (and for my money Revolution 9 shouldn't be on it), but you're never more than a couple of tracks from something great. Side 2 has I'm So Tired, Blackbird, and Why Don't We Just Do It In The Road; which is 3 great tracks ...

Re: Dangers of rubbish mains electricity
My fault. I was specifically wondering whether my NVA amps were particular in any way about wandering voltages etc. I guessed that the surge protection would apply to pretty much everything.Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote:review

Dangers of rubbish mains electricity
I'm about to move to Myanmar with my NVA amps, and apparently the mains electricity is rubbish. Power cuts are frequent, voltages waver around, and power surges seem to be a problem. Apart from plugging in everything through surge protectors, is there anything else I should be worried about or doing...

Re: Nasty high pitches tone
That is the plan, but staying here for a few more months at least.jammy395 wrote:Time to re-locate.
I'm going to try some ferrite rings on th mains cable to see if that makes any difference.
Don't really want to go buying expensive mains regenerators etc as it's only a temporary location.

Re: Nasty high pitches tone
I've tried the amp in a big cardboard box wrapped in tinfoil. Didn't seem to make much difference (apart from I need to buy new tin foil).

Re: Nasty high pitches tone
I tried the tin foil with an acrylic case. Maybe I'll try agin with it inside a big cardboard box... I've tried the amps in different locations and positions but it doesn't seem to make much difference - which made me think it might be something on the mains input. I've just desoldered the input to ...
