Re: Macca's System Blog
wotta loada :Bllocks:  There is an XTZ sound, and there is an NVA sound. I know - I've had 'em and heard 'em! And the perspectives they present on the music are quite different. (In my view, NVA is more realistic, but XTZ has more impact and obvious 'wow factor'). If Macca's version of musi...

Re: Macca's System Blog
Get another XTZ.
-- you won't get that sound from NVA, imho, it's a different sort of presentation.

Re: Jerry's ongoing system blog
I haven't got a clue what you're on about.
It's an amp rated at 130wpc. So what? My Crown XLS1500 was rated at 300wpc. So what? My lovely Amptastic Mini-T is rated at about 8wpc. So what?
You been hitting the Malt? hic

Re: Macca's System Blog
Just my 2p worth, Macca .... You may be expecting too much from an amp at the lower end of the NVA range. RD was kind enough to loan me a series of amps from (perhaps) the 30 up to the A80 monos. Good sound all along the range BUT there was a strong and definite hierarchy with distinct and worthwhil...

The return of Darth Vader's amp ... http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii114/jandl100/DSCF6367_zpsv4uhcbn5.jpg ... aka Restek Challenger - 130wpc integrated. I've had one before, but felt that I hadn't given it a proper go before the next bright sparkly thing got my attention. Saw this for a good BI...

Re: Jerry's ongoing system blog
I thought the tenner a month was like Spotify, and the hi-rez - hifi - is twice that, so not sure which one you have signed up for? Tidal is £20 a month,Jerry, you might be in for a surprise when you look at your statement at the end of the month... :angry-screaming:  yes, I know it is. Wel...

Re: Jerry's ongoing system blog
Considering the cost,is it twice as good as spotify, which i think is good enough...  That's a fair point. Before signing up with Tidal hi-rez, I spent an evening streaming from Amazon Music, which is MP3 quality, the same as Spotify and Tidal lo-rez, I think. Tbh it was very good a...

Re: Jerry's ongoing system blog
Fugg sound quality assessments - Do you like the MUSIC coming out??? I think this is the relevant bit of my previous post Dave, and the most important bit as far as I am concerned .... There's a classical music treasure trove on Tidal. :o .... You'll have to take my Tidal subscription from m...
