Re: Is the renaming of streets 'erasing history'?

I reckon that what gets remembered (and understood) is often related to what gets taught. We need a more truthful syllabus when it comes to our past. Which is a much more concise and articulate version of my rambling effort.. I was thinking about history lessons I had at school in the late 70s / ea...

Re: Is the renaming of streets 'erasing history'?

Street names , statues , place names are all historical memoirs . They are however looked after by the present. Should the democratic will be they are changed , they must be changed. There is however a world of difference between a slave trader in the 17 and 18 century and being a peadophile in the...

Is the renaming of streets 'erasing history'?

Savile's View in Scarborough was named after...you guessed it.

There are campaigns to rename streets that were named after people who were heavily involved in the slave trade. Would renaming those streets be erasing history, as many claim?

Re: Rega Planar 8 and Hana SL

I think the 'skeleton' designs are a definite step up. I liked a lot about the 10 when I heard it, and I know a couple of people who are very happy with their 8s.

Idlers are my gig but I get why the 8 and 10 sell.
