Stu is absolutely right that box appears to be a Thiele network and is used to prevent the amplifier going into RF oscillation due to high C speaker cables. Zobel network is used to linearize the impedance of a drive unit. None of which are used in NVA In our discussion with Paul I may have mixed up...

Yeap YAXI pads are really good for PortaPRO btw However the back of the player is rubberized and that had begun to perish, becoming unpleasantly sticky and rendering it unuseable.
