I have an Oppo connected to my DAC for this very reason too.... Few and far between but I do have DSOTM on that format.

Thanks for the replies guys. OK sorry but I'm a tad confused now. I realize the direct input bypasses the switch and goes through the pot, but can I use this as a tape out (output) to go to my headphone amp? It would be great for me if it could. I did not think possible but after seeing that diagra...

Drawn it, sorted. Tape out is same as direct, vc has no effect.

Yeah I am trying to think about it and can’t get my head round it. Logic says a direct input would be volume controlled obviously but that there’s no vc going the other way is what’s doing me.

Think I need to draw it and work it out.....

The direct input bypasses the input selector (the switch)...it still goes through the volume pot. Are you sure about this? I remember Richard saying the direct input and tape outs are the same and can be used “in” or “out” and bypass the volume control. I use these on a P50 to feed my integrated an...

Cheers Paul, he's done a cracking job! To be honest I bought the platters to get over the fact that the Lenco platter is a little bit warped/dished. My rationale being given they are not flexible they'd "eliminate" the warp below them by just sitting on the high spots of the Lenco platter....

Another Ant creation picked up today, exactly what I wanted and done extremely well. Platter sprayed, motor stripped and rebuilt, faulty capacitor replaced all for no extra charge just because it bugged him.
