Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.
Fret, I'd be very intrigued to find out what you think of the Mini PC after you give it a spin. There aren't many dedicated streamers out there without a DAC onboard so I can see the attraction. Of the ones that are available some are horrendously expensive, I'm left wondering what a dedicated strea...

Live Music in the North-East
Local hero Sam Fender hosted the UK's first socially distance friendly gig last night. Step-daughter was there with her boyfriend. The organisers have a number of gigs lined up over the next few weeks, the missus and me have our tickets for Van Morrison in 3 weeks time. How odd is this- https://imgu...
Re: Obits
Just read about the passing of Martin Birch, Engineer & Producer of so many Hard Rock bands in the 70's and 80's. His name will be on a record sleeve in most folks album collections. Deep Purple, Rainbow, Sabbath, Iron Maiden to name just a few.

Hi Bencat
Would you consider upgrading from a Pi 3 to 4 using an existing DAC HAT?

It sounds a bit like a possible ''rounding things up'' or maybe recycling some old stock, much like Bowie's ' next day' It's t...
New Music
2020 will be a year no ones likely to forget for all the wrong reasons but on the bright side, is it just me or does anyone else think its been a cracking year so far for new albums :?: I've been listening to some great stuff over the last few months, massive shame for the artists that they can't go...

Tidal set up?
The RPi3+ Allo Boss Combo has recently undergone a Volumio upgrade so that I could sample the latest Tidal offer which was mentioned on here a few weeks ago. Big thanks to whoever mentioned it, very impressed so far. Not only is it possible to download albums onto your phone, it's also possible to p...

Re: It's so Ethereal
Replaced the thin white flat cable between the Router and Pi with some Cat 8 stuff off ebay. Its very rigid, much thicker and has gold plated plugs. I thought it was a noticable improvement, for just over a tenner definatley worth a go. Deeper bass, more presence etc. TBH, had a bit of a 'wow wasnt ...
