Turntable get together
Hi folks, In the "dazed and confused" NVA thread the Doc made the kind offer of an invite to me to go to his place to listen to what a decent DD turntable can do and compare with my LP12 (pre circus, Heed power supply, Ittok LVII). I thought it could be fun to see if any other members were...

Re: Dazed and Confused
There were no good direct drives in the dealers, the industry was corrupt and bullshit back then. If there was a good one they dare not sell them or they lost their Linn agencies. Guy you are not that far away, bring your Linn around, you will be in for a shock. We have done this before ask Lindsay...

Re: Dazed and Confused
Hi Richard Just had a go with the Pioneer you suggested. It went in the last 2 seconds for £75. This ebay lark is a bit hard on the blood pressure and I am not getting any younger. Thanks for the tip anyway. I will keep my eyes open for a similar one. The Technics was also suggested to me. I take i...

Re: Rega planar 2 turntable problem - help please
Hi, The Rega bearing runs on a ball bearing. I would take the bearing spindle out (carefully), and check whether the ball bearing is free to move/ in there  ,oil still present/runny. You should be ok using a solvent with cotton bud (acetone/propanone or iso propyl alcohol may work) to degreas...

Re: Darts anyone......?
Oh bugger,
Just been to the pub for Petanque, latest news is that there is a gentleman interested in turning the social hub of our village in to a Chinese restaurant
good while it lasted.

Re: Darts anyone......?
Our village is lucky enough to have an excellent landlord (and wife) at one of its two pubs. As described above, the regulars have various skills - building, mechanics, teaching, management (a couple of millionaires - very modest chaps). The locals offer to help each other out when needed - the son o...
