Indeed. An example of fact would be that component A will work in a certain circuit and component B won't. If both work, but produce a different type of sound, preference for one over the other is all down to subjective opinion, or taste.

In hifi, as in many things, there are facts and there are opinions. Facts shouldn't be obfuscated but opinions can be nuanced, and may require something more subtle than 'X is great, Y is crap'. To some, that may come across as obfuscation.
