Re: Opinions on how the Government have handled the coronavirus outbreak

@CN211276

If politicians follow their brief then I’m assuming it’s to “toe the party line”. In which case who is giving the instructions and are our politicians not allowed to think for themselves ?

Re: Opinions on how the Government have handled the coronavirus outbreak

The problem with politicians is that they very rarely admit to making a mistake as they think that the opposition will make political capital and the electorate will see them as somehow “unfit” for the post. I would much prefer to see a politician put his hand up and admit to an error. The current g...

Re: Show of support for NHS staff

We will be supporting tonight but we support much more often. One of the Stemcor siblings is a paediatric nurse. Her car needs 2 new tyres and an mot which she cannot afford (thank you to successive Conservative governments for screwing the NHS). I don’t agree with Paul’s comment that people voted f...

Re: Limerick time! (the sillier, the better)

I came up with the first 2 lines a couple of months ago and thanks to this thread I’ve got it finished. Look away if you don’t like silliness / poor taste... There was a young girl from Wigan Who married a lad with a big ‘un Whenever she squeezed, he started to sneeze And now they’ve 2 kids and a Ti...

Re: Good, Cheap, Cartridges

My Denon 103 is no slouch in a PL71. I have often wondered if there is anything better even at several times the price.

Re: Which cheap Chinese DAC?

The answer to the original question is probably “the cheapest”. On the Docs advice I spent the princely sum of £5 on a Chinese dac. On it’s own it’s ok I suppose but nothing special. Add a £40 linear psu and the little box is transformed into something quite nice. It gives my Teddy Pardo dac some se...

Re: I Wish I Had The Money .....

Wouldn’t mind a pair of big speakers. If I had the money I’d be looking for something like cubix. As an alternative, I’ve always liked Linn isobariks despite their shortcomings although I’ve not heard a pair for a very long time.

Re: Boing

I bought the Doc’s PL71. It came with 4 “boing” type feet. Richard admitted on this forum that he got sucked in by a bit of hype. It can happen to any of us. The boings have been replaced by a set of proper PL71 feet. The tt is a lot more stable with the proper feet and to be honest, I can’t hear an...
