Re: McSpeakers

Copied directly from the Doc when I did mine; 'Bison first plastidip second. You have two choices depending on whether you bought a can of Bison or are relying on tubes. If only tubes then a nice *thick* worm all around junction between dustcap and cone. It will settle then put another worm. If you ...

Re: NEAT Acoustics. Any users here?

I owned a pair of Neat speakers for a few years and liked them. Brought them to a bake off where they did quite well. Not the same model, they were the smaller 'Motives'. Moved them on and now use Cube 2's. Wouldn't go back, but nicely finished and one of the better speakers I've had over the last 4...

Re: Computer audio and my closed mind

When I was screwing these things together, you could build a Raspberry Pi based streamer for less than £100 (less power supply). Depends what you want - build your own and play with endless combinations of DAC boards (stereo output), Digi boards (digital output for the DAC of your choice and interc...

Re: Computer audio and my closed mind

I'd noticed the Nord Acoustics Streamer only recently too. From what I can gather it is fitted with one of the top end dac chips? Be curious to try one out. Still using the same Pi/Allo Boss Dac that was at Paul's bake-off almost 3 years ago, keep thinking that I should change to something more expe...

Re: favourite album releases of 2020

2020 what a bummer! However, for new releases, albums from artist both established and new to my ears, it’s definitely been one of the best for many a year. Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen 2020 albums were both excellent. I hope that there are lots of contributions as I discovered a few cracking alb...

Re: Last Live Listen

At last a live gig to report! Van Morrison played at the Virgin Money Unity Arena at Gosforth Park last night. Newcastle's unique socially distanced music arena and an evening I'm never likely to forget. He's still got it, unmistakably Van the Man despite he's now 75. Great selection of the old and ...
