Re: CD - it's not dead yet!

For the rest, poor audio quality on modern CD releases is being used by record companies as leverage to get people to buy 'better-sounding' vinyl at enormously inflated prices. Rolling Stones Hacnkney Diamonds being a prime example. I'm sure it would sound better on a decent vinyl front end than st...

Re: Your last listen

Judas Priest - Nostradamus Something of a diversion and a very. devisive underrated album. Interesting comments in KK Downings autobiography. He wanted them to play it in full on the tour. There failure to do so was a contributory factor in him leaving and they have not been the same since. I got t...

Re: Your last listen

Must dig out LLDB today. It' weird, PG's Back to Front, Secret World and Growing Up DVD's have been on rotation here. It started with watching the Secret World show on amazon, which got me wondering how many PG LP's have I missed and where are these wonderful songs. Turned out I'd missed no LP's, ju...

Re: Sci-Fidelity

I read somewhere that the script/pitch for Rebel Moon was rejected by Disney - Lucas, given what they've done to that franchise this told me enough, haven't rushed to watch it, will give it a go but I'm not expecting much.

Re: DAC to the Future

Assuming there is an SMSL house sound then I suspect you'll be quite pleased. I have an old (ancient) in DAC terms sanskript which sounds really good for the price I paid then. Ironically the USB input is as flaky as a tory election promise, but Coax continues to sound wonderful. as DAC's go I find ...

Re: Sci-Fidelity

Oh Lower decks and SNW are excellent, I hope they use any spare budget to either carry on with the Empress in Section 31, or give Jack and 7 of 9 a run in a spin off of Picard.

Re: Obits

On a less surprising note Shane MacGowan has gone at 65. Having seen him relatively regularly in a Highgate pub in the 2000's, I'm amazed he's gotten this far. He and M. E. Smith seemed to have an appetite for epic self destruction which is a shame as I miss Smith, and I loved the Pogues. Certainly ...
