Re: HS2 opinions
Upgrading the Chiltern Line would be less expensive and of greater utility than HS2 but less exciting. I believe the Chiltern line was upgraded not that many years ago, and that some people prefer that route to Birmingham. Having seen a cab ride video of the line after upgrading, and also videos of...

Re: HS2 opinions
Apparently more of the public are against hs2 than are in favour. Some are on here but they remain quiet. Do you think that statement is about HS2 per se OR about the cost of HS2 ? Sometimes you have to factor in the likely costs involved if projects like this don't go ahead.(in the long term) When...

Re: HS2 opinions
Absolutely.
During the pandemic, when Eurostar services were curtailed, some freight was using HS1.

Re: HS2 opinions
I'm not sure if it's planned that any freight would use HS2.
We all care about the environment, until we actually have to do something that affects our way of life, not all of us, but I suspect a greater majority.

Re: HS2 opinions
Rail would be a lot more attractive if fairs were lower and local services better. Fairs have recently gone up a lot where I am and local services have been cut. If I am not on the beer it is always the car. The exception is the local bus service as it costs me nothing with my over 60s pass and the...

Re: HS2 opinions
I take a great interest in all matters railway, and for me, one of the big benefits of HS2 was making many more freight paths available on the existing lines. It seems most people, when asked, would like rail freight to increase and lorry movements to decrease. A couple of months ago I spent a few h...

Re: Owston meet 27th November doncaster
I was going to go to this but my wife informed me I am otherwise engaged. Bums. I was quietly looking forward to going and getting horrendously pissed with some like minded individuals. Oh well. Next one after that. The Friday evening "talking bollocks" session is particularly interesting...

Re: Integrated Amplifier Markings?
As (these days) inputs are either line or phono why not use Line 1, Line 2 etc for line inputs ?
Then the input selector can be 1, 2, 3 etc.
Does anyone really need a tape out these days ?

Re: NVA Blog
Only 300VA ?
The ones I had on my Mosfet single ended amp (since dismantled) were a gnats under 1000VA, one for each monoblock.
