Re: Jammys Royd Edens
Wee Royds aren't really volume monsters and they're well known for not taking kindly to being givng a caning (unlike my Q2010i's which no matter how hard I drive them the litte b*ggers refuse to break) which is why I've always erred on the cautious with the volume knob. They do sound great on good, ...

Re: Royd Sintra 2.....Help
Jammy - I've recently bought what looks like a very nice pair of Edens off Andrew which are due to arrive this thursday. Looking forward to having Royds again (no not those sort of 'roids :D ) If in the unlikely event they don't gel in my rig (and they'll be going up a pair of Snell K's soon - the w...

That's a very good price - if I hadn't just bought Andrews Edens I'd have been all over these.Neilardo wrote:Went for £255 in the end. That seems like a pretty good price to me. Anyone here?

Re: P50/P90 with valve amps esp single ended
I used my old P90SA with a WAD KaT34 (which had been configured for passive apparently) and it worked brilliantly.

Re: Small Speakers.
If you see a pair of Dean Altos, they are lovely little things. It's probably sacrilege to use them outside of a main system, but you're the boss, so if they please you, why not? They don't come up often though. IIRC Gromit bought a pair off me way back when. I did indeed have a pair - lovely speak...

Re: Small Speakers.
I wish that I could try the Yamaha NS-10's....But look how much they are fetching these days   S. Lorks - NS-10's? For home use I'd avoid them like the plague - they're fabulous in a studio control room as they're so dry (which is what they were designed for) but please don't take them ...

Re: Unipivots
The other one from those days well worth seeking out is the AT1005II (Audio Technica). Someone's selling one of these as part of a package with a very nice Lenco on one of the forums. At last year's Scalford Show I spent a great couple of hours on the saturday evening with the Lenco boys listening ...

Sintras also have the higher quality Scanspeak D2010 tweeter which is a lot less spiky then those used in other models. I'd be very surprised if these fetch less than £300, especially in the wood finish.
