Re: T.I.S (The Interconnect Statement)

Sounds a bit like my days of school and 6th Form where it was like...

'Ooh...I'm a Genesis fan, but please don't tell anyone'

'It's ok...I am too'

<sigh of relief>

:D

Correction - a bloody good rock band from Canada, the drummer from whom was once described as 'quite good' by Buddy Rich. For BR to pay any kind of compliment to anyone (except himself) was virtually unknown.

Re: Semi-Detached, Detached Or Terraced?

Our house has stud lining to its outside walls. From the outside world you'll get brick (outside), partition (with insulation), air-brick, then plastered stud inner 'skin' nailed to batons. Was chatting to a builder friend of ours when he was putting up our music room/extension why it was done this ...

Re: Semi-Detached, Detached Or Terraced?

Detached. Our nearest neighbours are 30+ yards away so hifi volume setting isn't an issue, and having a separate music room which contains the piano (and is where I teach) means I can make a racket at any time of day without disturbing anyone. As our house was an individual build (by a local builder...

Re: T.I.S (The Interconnect Statement)

Should really qualify this... 'separate musical strands begin to appear more readily from the mix' A bit better. It does frustrate me when I read 'I can hear each separate strand better, or there's more separation between sounds' yadda yadda. I realise I've fallen into that trap for which I'm sorry....

Re: T.I.S (The Interconnect Statement)

Got the full set here - SC, SSC, SSP Mk2 and TIS. Sorry I haven't really had the time to make lengthy notes - the simple reason being that I've been so busy and the photography and music teaching (as opposed to playing) thing is starting to take off and time listening to music on the hifi has been s...

Re: Balanced line mains

What the Doc said above. I would most certainly have entertained the idea of another NVA amp but it seems, despite the amps to-ing & fro-ing from Lincs to NVA Towers for modifications there's not been a cure found. I briefly popped one of the amps round to our neighbour's place a few weeks ago b...

A much better photo of the beastie... https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2895/14631777001_d619ac88d9_b.jpg DSCF1943 Ok, then - what does it actually do? We all know (DSJR espesh ;) ) that the 42.5/110 isn't exactly what you'd describe as a shrinking violet. Violent is perhaps a more apt description. Sti...
