Re: Footy
Congratulations to Sweden for qualifying for the World Cup tournament in Russia 2018. Italy are out. Were they managed by Steve McClaren's Italian cousin? Holland are out too. :violin: It's a shame Germany, Spain, France, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Uruguay, Iceland qualified. Without them ...

Re: U.F.O's
Time travel is probably impossible. Entropy and all that. Time travel as depicted in films and TV is extremely implausible as they're not just travelling in time they're travelling an unfeasibly huge distance extremely precisely. It's just lazy unimaginitive film-making when they materialise standin...

Re: U.F.O's
Of course they're real. They're Unidentified. Anyone speculating or claiming that they're Interstallar spacecraft is probably wrong. Any life form intelligent enough to spend the huge resources required for interstellar travel would most likely have a big fanfare arrival: "Ta da! We're here eve...

Re: Spendor Sp2/3r2 v Spendor Classic 1/2 v Harbeth SLH5 + v Stirling LS3/6.
I have a big book on the history of KEF that I got for Christmas last year and having read it, realise that I would never be able to make a pair of speakers. They have specialist technicians and experts using big computers and special anoceic chambers that they design their speakers in.Unfortunatel...

If I lived in the States and had Spendor SP2's, I'd be looking for speakers like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Urei-813-2X15-Main-Studio-Monitors/253141149454?hash=item3af063670e:g:6U0AAOSwCCVZsf2x with perished bass driver surrounds for $500 or less. Altec, Bozak, EV, JBL, Urei all made speakers t...

I'd like to come.
Would it be OK if I brought my £20 Marantz CD player to compare against whatever else is there?

Re: Hi-Fi Honesty
Why do people think there are hi-fi experts or Guru's when there ain't, everyone is an individual. And as for paid hi-fi experts and Guru's they are the worst type. The unpaid Guru is driven by ego, so any lies that get him looked at or put him up the Guru ladder is the way, which is why I take gre...

Re: Hi-Fi Honesty
Thanks for the insight it was all very confusing at the time on who won the bake off, although the ATC did well as they didn't have a Sub, also Ashley I feel had to prune the discussion at the time as he know even he most staunch supporters could have commented on how great oldskool JBL drivers wer...

Re: Hi-Fi Honesty
AVI probably have a small market share but it was a successful forum which got a lot of coverage and was in some ways one of the better Forums although the magazines are dying off they are now becoming a bigger force on the internet. The AVI / HDD forum was always a marketing tool for Ashley James....
